How can we get involved in Myanmar? Whether you are from a foundation, impact investor or social enterprise, we tried to cover the different angles for participation in this country that is slowly opening its doors to the outside world. The speakers for the previous 2 webinars include Nicholas Lazos from Insitor Management, Allison Morris of Project Hub Yangon and Ingrid Stange of Partnership for Change.
Attendees of the webinars asked pertinent questions relating to their own work and ventured about policy issues that will affect enterprise set-up, financing, infrastructure and also on the level of readiness of the Burmese people. Many connections were exchanged after and we strongly believe that this will be a first step in many more developments to come.
The final instalment of this series will provide an analysis of the underlying factors that have shaped the country since 1948. By placing current events, key stakeholders, and issues into their broader context, Dr. Aung-Thwin provides an internal perspective of Myanmar affairs that will be directly relevant to investors, foundations, and social purpose organisations who are concerned with the sustainability of political reforms and possible ramifications of the 2015 elections.
Dr. Aung-Thwin is an area-studies specialist of Southeast Asia, with particular expertise in Myanmar history, politics, and society. AVPN is privileged to have him speak to our community.
