Toa-Payoh Community Trail – Roads Less Travelled

toa-payoh

AVPN’s Friday sessions are casual get-togethers once a month for our community and friends, whereby we choose a topic of interest, and have a key speaker start the conversation off.

For the month of August we will be having a community trail around Toa Payoh conducted by the students of the NUS-Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Programme.

The trail will cover shared community spaces in Toa Payoh West neighbourhood such as a community garden, a walk through different residential housing types and stakeholders in the community like the Senior Activity Centre. There will be continuous walking during those 2 hours and so participants are recommended to travel light, dress comfortably and bring sufficient shade and water in case of hot weather.

The community trail intends to expose participants to pertinent social issues and insights related to community development in Singapore. There will be a short introductory briefing but the final discussion will usually be conducted within groups. The trail is intended as a safe space for open and honest discussion for both participants and facilitators alike.

Meeting point:

Toa Payoh Hub Atrium (above Toa Payoh MRT-look for the AVPN sign)
Friday, August 14th
3:30-6:00pm
