- Why has your organization joined AVPN?
Saïd Business School, University of Oxford has a long history in promoting the advancement of social entrepreneurship, social finance and venture philanthropy, joining AVPN is part of the latest phase of that commitment. We hope to share our research, knowledge and experience with and to learn from the leading organisations in the field.
- How is your organization involved in the venture philanthropy space?
The business school provides ground-breaking research in the fields of social entrepreneurship, social innovation, social finance and impact investing. Through our faculty thought leaders, industry pioneer guest speakers and global peer group, our programmes enable the next generation of investors to deliver social, environmental and financial returns.Embedded within Saïd Business School is The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, which was launched in 2003 to promote the advancement of social entrepreneurship worldwide. The first Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship took place in 2005 and has become a globally renowned annual event.
- What would you like to contribute to the network?
Our contribution to the network covers four broad areas: education, events, research and talent development. Saïd Business School, provides world class education (MBA, EMBA, and Oxford Impact Investing Programme), globally renowned events (Skoll World Forum, Emerge LAUNCH Social Impact Careers Conference) research (Academic and Applied) and nurtures and supports talented individuals (MBA projects – entrepreneurship and strategic consulting projects).
