toolboxSince our conference in April, AVPN has gained 13 new members and we would like to highlight some of them to you. Please welcome them into the AVPN community!

In this issue, we will be introducing Toolbox India Foundation. ToolBox India Foundation (“Toolbox”) is a nonprofit organisation whose mission is to help socially relevant non-profits in the definition of their objectives and the development of their organisational capacity to best reach those objectives. It was established in 2007 as an overseas extension of its Belgian counterpart, ToolBox Belgium.

ToolBox Belgium was initiated when its founders noted that there a clear need and demand to support nonprofit organisations at a management level. They realised that this could be provided for by drawing on the skills and motivation of corporate professionals to volunteer pro-bono consulting services.

Toolbox serves as a platform that connects volunteers with diverse experience in fields such as strategic and operations management, human resources, information technology, communications and marketing and impact measurement to nonprofit partners through a comprehensive assessment of both parties’ expertise and needs.

Toolbox has an impressive roster of 75 high powered corporate professionals till date who volunteer their time and expertise in coaching NPOs in specific areas as needed. In the last 3 years Toolbox has supported 35 organisations with over 50 projects with approximately 9,500 consulting hours. Most of the nonprofits execute programs to build sustainable communities, livelihood programs, Education, Community Health initiatives and Women’s empowerment programs. More details can be found in the Capacity Building case study under the Capacity Development Model.
