PAD’s AI Training Programme brings artificial intelligence literacy to rural Tamil Nadu by introducing women farmers, fishers, students, SHG members, and NGO workers to practical AI tools through mainly in-person sessions. Conducted in participants’ own villages with bilingual (Tamil–English) facilitation, the programme focuses on hands-on practice and support from facilitators using simple explanations, demonstrations, group practice, and real-life examples directly related to their livelihoods and daily needs. PAD’s participatory model ensures 100% completion—field workers provide door-to-door motivation, small batches build peer support, and refreshments or small incentives keep learners engaged. As a result, participants quickly see value in using AI for translation, report and proposal writing, farming advice, and helping children with studies.
