About the course

In the shifting landscape of education, a new contender has appeared – Artificial Intelligence (AI). This course will cover what it is, what it isn’t, and how to use it responsibly. These evidence-based resources help teachers integrate artificial intelligence safely and ethically, featuring lesson plans and professional learning filled with practical strategies and expert insights to enhance student learning outcomes. Created in partnership with AVPN and the University of Melbourne’s Centre for AI and Digital Ethics (CAIDE), this is the ultimate introduction to AI in Education.

Module Structure

  • What is AI

    This module covers what AI is, what it isn’t, how AI has developed over time and the terminology used to talk about AI.

  • Risks & Benefits?

    This module covers how educators can leverage AI for the best impact on their teaching, as well as the potential ethical and legal risks AI might pose and how to mitigate these risks.

  • Developing your AI Literacy

    This module provides educators with the opportunity to develop their AI skills, including prompt writing, evaluating the output of AI and building custom AI tools for specific scenarios.
