Cheryl Tan is currently Senior Associate, Public Policy for APAC with the Expedia Group, based in Singapore overseeing Southeast Asia.

Cheryl has a strong public policy and journalistic background. Before joining Expedia, she was Deputy Director (ASEAN) at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, Singapore's oldest and independent think tank. There she supported and promoted the SIIA's research priorities, as well as corporate and government outreach in the ASEAN region, with special focus on Myanmar and Indonesia. Before that, she was a journalist with Singapore's broadsheet newspaper, The Straits Times, covering general news, travel and lifestyle.

Cheryl has a Master of Arts in Asian and International Studies (Distinction) from the City University of Hong Kong's Department of Asian and International Studies. She was also a Recipient of The Department of Asian and International Studies Outstanding Taught Postgraduate Students Awards 2012/2013. 

She also obtained a Bachelor of Communication Studies from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University, majoring in Journalism and Publishing.
