Anne-Karin Nygård is responsible for PfC’s focus on women empowerment, both in Norway and internationally. She is the former Secretary General of Norwegian Women’s Public Health Association (NKS), a role she held for the past seven years.  As the Secretary General of NKS, Nygård was a central figure in the establishment of the pioneer project Women’s Health Association of Ethiopia (WHAE). Nygård has years of experience within social innovation, Norwegian politics and women empowerment projects in Ethiopia. Through her entire career she has shown enthusiasm for women and has reached significant results both in Norway and abroad. She has held several leadership positions including the position as the Principal of Lovisenberg Diakonale Høgskole in Oslo.
