Caroline Essame is the founder, owner and managing director of CreateCATT- Singapore. A new arrival to the social enterprise sector she has a BSc in Occupational Therapy from Oxford Brookes University, a Post Grad Diploma in Arts Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire and a Masters in Education from the University of Bath, as well as previous experience in development work in Malaysia in 1980s with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). She has worked for over 30 years in the field of human development, with experience in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the UK and India and expertise in elderly services, adult mental health and most recently children with special needs and early childhood. She pioneered South East Asia’s first Masters programme in Art Therapy in Singapore and developed the first creative arts centre in Malaysia for children with autism. She is visiting creative arts and play consultant for Deepti special school in Kerala, India and an advisor for the Romanian Association for Play Therapy and Dramatherapy. Her social enterprise seeks to make her network of expertise available to children across Asia who have special needs through innovative technology and capacity building.
