Fully embracing the Filipino value of the bayanihan spirit and love for her country’s cultural heritage, Maria has engaged herself during these past 20 years into various long-term socio-cultural and educational initiatives. Her engagements expanded as the current CEO of Consuelo 'Chito' Madrigal Foundation, Inc.
Equipped with skills and knowledge in educational management and non-profit organizations, she has launched herself in advocating the value of family in nation building; upholding human dignity as the center of human development. She tirelessly addresses the basic needs of the individual, especially those in need. She safeguards and defends the important role of women in the family to achieve an integrated sustainable development.
She holds a masters and doctoral degree in Education from the University of Navarra, Spain.
Focused on the importance of continuing education, she pursued post graduate courses on non-profit management and evaluation from Harvard Business School and on Marriage, Education, and Family at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain.
