Mr. Chih-Kai (CK) Cheng is the co-founder and Chairman of B Current Impact Investment, the first and only fund in Taiwan focused on investment into social enterprises. Mr. Cheng also co-founded two conventional venture capital funds, Acorn Pacific Ventures in 2015 and Harbinger Venture inn 2000. The profit pursuing practice of venture funds helps Mr. Cheng evaluate and improve the efficiency of social enterprises. At the same time the social-mission-oriented impact investment practices helps Mr. Cheng guide and enhance the social awareness of typical for-profit enterprises. Although these two types of enterprises have different ultimate objectives, he believes they can learn some best practices from each other. While being a resident in Silicon Valley, California for over 25 years, Mr. Cheng travels extensively to Taiwan and China. He served as board directors for over a dozen of companies and oversees their growth from inception to exit. With those extensive hands-on field experiences, Mr. Cheng writes frequently on innovation and entrepreneurship. His essays had been collected in a book “Out of Serendipity” (in Chinese). Mr. Cheng received a Master of Management Science from National Chiao Tung University and a Bachelor of Physics from National Tsing Hua University, both in Taiwan.
