David is the Director of the Capital Mobilisation Team at AVPN. In this role, he engages with the broad spectrum of capital providers, to deploy financial and human capital to strong, credible Impact Organizations across Asia. He also oversees the strategic deployment of philanthropic capital in the region, across gender equality, climate action, health and youth empowerment. This intersects with his work focused on strengthening non-profit organisations through capacity-building initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and actively contributing to trust-based philanthropy, innovative financing and funder collaborative models. Prior to joining AVPN, David has more than a decade experience working with government, corporate and social enterprises in advancing the sustainable development agenda in Malaysia. He was the Manager of the Social Innovation Team at Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) that led the initiatives in supporting the seeding and scaling of social enterprises via capacity building, access to market, funding and skills as well as the policy consultation for the Malaysian government and foundations. As an accounting-trained graduate, David has in the past worked and volunteered, in the field of finance and fundraising, for several social enterprises as well as green technology companies across Malaysia. David is also a fellow of AVPA-AVPN Impact Investing Fellowship as well as a member of the British Council Global Future Leaders Connect.
