Omkaew “Fai” Wechayachai joined ANDE in 2017 and manages the work of ANDE in the East and Southeast Asia Chapter to build the ecosystem of support for entrepreneurs in the region. Fai led the effort to bring the first Investment Manager Training to be held in Bangkok in 2018 in order to build the capacity and drive more capital to Small and Growing Business sector in the region. She also identified the needs from ecosystem players to better understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem landscape in SEA which led to ANDE Myanmar Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Snapshot report launched in 2019. Fai holds a Masters in Comparative International Development Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto. She brings both private and public sector in education industry expertise. Her previous experience including working for UNICEF Canada, the US State Department's J-1 Program through Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) and a grassroot NGO in northern Thailand. She served as the Deputy Managing Director of a Thai educational institution that established the Canadian International School of Thailand, an institution she helped build from the ground up. Prior to her role with the Canadian International School, Fai was part of the
management team of KidZania Bangkok where she led the creation of a 15-person sales team while identifying and cultivating leading industry brands and corporates in the market.
