Ludwig Forrest is the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the King Baudouin Foundation, where he leads the Centre for Philanthropy. With 25 years of experience, Ludwig offers information, guidance, and tailor-made assistance on strategic philanthropy to private donors, families, businesses, and professional advisers interested in public benefit initiatives. Additionally, Ludwig serves as an international philanthropy architect for global philanthropic movements. His main objectives include helping donors and beneficiaries find effective solutions for philanthropic intentions in Belgium, Europe, and worldwide. He also works to foster and simplify the cross-border giving environment by promoting the Giving Europe network and the Myriad Alliance at a global level. Ludwig is a member of the Board of the Belgian Federation of Philanthropic Foundations and is actively involved with Philea, where he co-chairs the Legal Affairs Committee. He is an advocate at both national and EU levels, and a publicist and speaker/moderator at international conferences. Ludwig has organized and coordinated five editions of The Philanthropy Day in Brussels. The latest edition of Be Philanthropy took place on the 2nd of April 2026, which attracted over 1,500 attendees from Belgium and abroad.
