Ivy Wong Abdullah is currently the Senior Vice President and Head of Environment Pillar at Yayasan Hasanah, the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Foundation of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. Ivy provides leadership and technical input on Hasanah’s Environment work programme, targeted at halting further degradation of critical sites in the Central Forest Spine in Peninsular Malaysia, developing sustainable financing mechanism for Sabah’s conservation program and in building environmental consciousness towards addressing Malaysia’s carbon footprint of energy efficiency, waste management and water conservation.

Prior to this position, Ivy worked with Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), a regional government entity in Malaysia, where she developed the Green Economic Guidelines Manual for the 9 promoted sector of the region, established the Green Technology and Climate Change Council for the state of Johor and secured the protection for Sungai Pulai Forest Reserve, one of the three Ramsar sites in Johor. She also previously held positions with WWF-Malaysia, Malaysian Nature Society and International Tropical Timber Organization.

Ivy was the Asia Fellow 2016 of the Low Emissions Development Strategy (LEDS) Global Partnership Program, which allowed her to participate in the 2016 Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) Program on Climate and Energy, of which she is now an Alumni.

Ivy was a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation fellowship in 1995 and participated in an Advanced Training Program on Conservation Biology under the consortium of Field Museum of Natural History, Brookfield Zoo and University of Illinois, Chicago. Ivy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Science, majoring in Aquaculture from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia.
