Jean T. Miao is the US representative for AVPN. Based in Los Angeles, she has worked in the not-for-profit and philanthropic sectors for more than two decades in a variety of fields including leadership development, education, health, cultural exchange, and the arts.

Prior to AVPN, Jean was based in Hong Kong overseeing the philanthropic giving of a family foundation. She also served as the Hong Kong advisor to Give2Asia, which is a U.S.-based international nonprofit organization that connects donors with charitable projects and social enterprises across the Asia Pacific region. 

Jean was a program officer at The California Endowment, a private statewide health foundation, as well as a program manager for the Getty Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the J. Paul Getty Trust. She has taught in the School of Economics and Management and English department at Tsinghua University in Beijing. She has a BA and an MBA from UCLA.
