About

Ms. Jessica Tam is a Business Director of HKCSS, the first tripartite platform in Hong Kong promoting social entrepreneurship and social innovation. In the past decade, the platform has supported more than 400 social enterprises, covering over 50% of the total number of social enterprises in Hong Kong. Since joining the HKCSS, she has been spearheading a wide range of innovative initiatives in collaboration with the government, business, and NGO partners. These initiatives include the establishment of Social Enterprise Business Centre, the first language-based Pay for Success Project in Asia, Good Goods SE Trading Platform, Care Food initiative, and the Impact Incubator – the SIE Fund’s intermediary. Jessica is a member of the Social Enterprise Summit’s Organizing Committee, the CUHK’s Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Fund’s vetting committee, the Social Enterprise Challenge’s Advisory Committee. In 2018, Jessica received the Secretary for Home Affairs’ commendation because of her contribution to the social enterprise sector. In 2019 and 2020, she was selected as the AVPN Policy Fellow in Singapore, and the Tatler’s Asia Impact List (100 most influential persons in Asia) respectively. Jessica majored in Sociology and minored in Psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and received a first-class bachelor degree. She further received her M. Phil degree in sociology from the same university. Jessica also graduated from the executive programs in social entrepreneurship and non-profit management at the INSEAD Business School (Singapore) and Graduate School of Stanford University (USA). Currently, Jessica is a Ph.D. candidate in social welfare of the CUHK, specialising in social entrepreneurship and social innovation.
