Joseph Thompson is the CEO and Co-Founder of AID:Tech, the world’s first company ever to deliver international aid using blockchain technology. Joseph co-founded AID:Tech in response for the need to increase transparency and donor engagement. His vision is to empower individuals with a legal digital identity so that aid, remittances, welfare, and donations can be sent directly to end beneficiaries.
In September 2017, and the United Nations General Assembly, Joseph was named as one of only 10 chosen UN SDG Pioneers for 2017 as a Pioneer for Blockchain Technology.
AID:Tech are winners of Citibank’s Tech for Integrity Game Changer of the Year Award for fighting corruption, which was presented by Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde. AID:Tech is also the recent winner of the Smart Dubai Office Future Blockchain competition, finishing first place from a global competition to use blockchain to deliver governmental services.
