Khadijah is a child rights and protection practitioner; areas of focus include alternative care, care reforms and systems strengthening. With more than twenty years of experience, her work has extended to include strategic review, policy development and social service workforce strengthening for vulnerable children (including refugee/asylum-seeking, UASC and children on the move) in Asia. Over the years, she has facilitated and coordinated practice learning platforms to impart the understanding of the child-centred approaches, safeguarding and provision of nurturing effective care to secure the best outcomes for children deprived of parental care with various stakeholders both government agencies as well as civil society organizations in the region. With a broad network alongside the familiarity with the workings of NGOs, UN bodies and international organizations, she builds on the multi-sectoral partnerships to influence policy change and strategic action plans for marginalised children and families.
