About

Margot joined Capital 4 Development Partners in the fall of 2018. She manages C4D's Portfolio Support Program, a facility that provides Business Development Support to C4D's pipeline and portfolio companies. In addition, she supports the development of the Indonesian investment portfolio of the C4D Asia Fund. Prior to joining C4D, Margot had been representing asset owners/HNWIs in impact investing for 8 years. Her most recent role was as Investment Manager at Wire Group, a Dutch advisory firm focused on guiding investors on their impact investing journey and linking them to impact investing opportunities in the market. Before joining Wire Group in early 2017, Margot was impact investing manager at Anthos Fund and Asset Management, where she launched the impact investing activities of the Brenninkmeijer family and was part of a small impact investing team since 2010. Margot started her career with Unilever in Utrecht and Rotterdam. After three years, she joined AT Kearney in Amsterdam to become a strategic management consultant. She left AT Kearney when she moved to New York in 2003 where she decided to switch to a career in international development. To solidify this switch, she gained a Master of International Affairs (MIA) from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York, with a specialization in development finance. During her six year stay in New York, Margot was involved in consulting projects with the World Bank in Benin, UN/Earth Institute Millennium Villages Project in Kenya, ICICI Bank and SKS Microfinance in India, and with a remittances project of HSBC Bank USA. Prior to moving back to The Netherlands, Margot was part of the Latin America project finance team at Nord/LB in New York. Besides a MIA, Margot holds a Master of Law degree from the University of Utrecht and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 2012 to 2017, Margot was an active board member of Max Foundation, a Dutch organization focusing on healthy lives for children in Bangladesh, Nepal and Ethiopia by applying integrated health and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions. She has also been on the board of the Social Performance Task Force, an active network for professionals in inclusive finance. Lastly, Margot is one of the mentors of Rockstart Impact?s /Enterprise accelerator program in Nepal and Myanmar.
