About

Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Graduate Certificate in Social Investment and Impact. I am working with the SEED (Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development) unit for World Vision Australia, based out of Melbourne. Our role is to design & develop business-based approaches to help poor communities increase their household incomes as well as broker public-private partnerships to achieve scale and maximise social impact. A key responsibility of mine as the Economic Development Learning Manager is to support the employees who are implementing economic development programmes in developing contexts globally. These frontline employees are the organisation’s direct touch-points with the communities and partners we work alongside. Together we have trained and certified 75 frontline staff who support approximately 50,000 smallholder farmer households to increase their incomes, though business-based approaches and public-private partnerships. Within the SEED unit we are also currently designing or piloting innovative adaptive development approaches that build upon our current expertise and facilitate public-private partnerships. This includes impact investing including development impact bonds; inclusive business activities such as sustainable and ethical supply chains; climate smart initiatives including clean cook-stoves and carbon offsetting; supporting small and micro enterprises to become invest-able; financial graduation from community savings groups; as well as providing last-mile distribution of socially beneficial products through a micro-franchising model.
