Nayana has close to two decades of experience in the social sector and rural and tribal development was her area of interest when she came to study MSW in Delhi University. She worked with grassroots organizations as an implementer; international human rights organizations as a trainer- facilitator, and has also worked in national and international donor foundations as a Program Officer/Manager overseeing multi-state/multi-country grants. She has always pushed the boundaries of her formal job-description to get better results for the target communities. It was after the first 8 years in the sector that she started working on widespread discrimination against women as she realized through her engagement with marginalized communities that they were at the lowest rung in the families even among the most marginalized. Since then she has mindfully built her community work in a way that they essentially work towards reducing the gender discrimination.
