Thao is LIN's Executive Director, since August 2019. Thao joined LIN in September 2017 as Finance Director, in this role, she oversaw all financial and operational functions, including: budgeting, forecasting, internal control system, working with donors on grantsâ?? proposal budget and financial report, communication with Governmental Departments, to ensure the organizationâ??s governance and finance system complies with Governmental regulations, and advisement of the senior management team and Board of Director on governing decisions. She is described by her colleagues and associates as a trusted partner, a collaborative leader and a relationship builder who deeply commits to the organizationâ??s mission and the Community. Prior to LIN, Thao has 7 years of financial management experience within the nonprofit sector in leadership position. She also lectured business finance in universities and has mentored nonprofitsâ?? emerging leaders on organization â??s internal control . In early 2018, Thao was chosen as one of fellows from the Southeast Asian countries by â??Young Southeast Asean Leaders Initiativeâ?? professional program. This exchange program has given her an opportunity to broaden her leadership skills and build a broad network with American partners and emerging leaders from different countries who work in Community development sector. Thao always believes that every individual has the ability to make the world a better place, and â??the way to change the world is through individual responsibility and taking local action in your own communityâ?? (Jeff Bridges) . This inspires her to align herself with the Community Development sector.
