Nick Boerema is the founder and CEO of TapEffect, a Singapore-based company dedicated to expanding access to safe piped water for rural communities across Southeast Asia. Access to clean water is the foundation for so many impact areas: it keeps children healthy and in school, enables women and girls to spend their time learning and earning instead of collecting water, reduces poverty through productivity gains, and builds resilience to climate change.

TapEffect focuses on catalytic capital approaches to unlock scale in rural water access. TapEffect blends capital to incentivize utilities to expand household connections and improve service quality. Increasing access to clean water multiplies impact across the SDGs—spanning health, gender equality, education, and climate resilience.
