Nurdiana was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She completed her degrees in Information Systems Technology in the USA. She currently lives in Jakarta with her twins son and daughter. Ms. Darus started her career at Accenture (known then as Andersen Consulting) in 1996 where she dedicated her career of almost 18 years in the strategic and technology consulting firm. She managed Fortune 500 clients in the upstream oil & gas and mining industry through strategic, change management, and technology implementation programs. In May 2014 Nurdiana was recruited by the National REDD+ government agency as Deputy Minister for Technology and System Monitoring. This marked the official start of her involvement in the climate change and sustainability programs. She continued her involvement in the climate change and sustainability by leading the Indonesia Palm Oil Pledge (IPOP) platform, as Southeast Asia Director of the Rainforest Alliance, and Chief Operating Officer of the Landscape Indonesia. Nurdiana is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for Unilever Indonesia. In her current role, Ms. Darus engages in advocacy work with stakeholders in the palm oil, plastics, and other sustainability initiatives. Her vast experience in the consulting sector, in the private sector, as a senior government official, and leadership role in a civil society organization, in addition to her proven skills in operations, projects implementation, change, communication, and stakeholders? management have placed her in a very strategic nexus to deliver real change and impact to businesses, the government, and the civil society. Ms. Darus received her cum laude bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management Information Systems, from the University of Oklahoma, her Master of Science degree in Information Systems Technology from The George Washington University, and executive trainings from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Ms. Darus enjoys yoga, music, reading, and spending time with her children and family. She is also on the Board of the Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari and Hutan Itu Indonesia initiatives.
