Olivia is the China/HK Senior Associate at AVPN.
Olivia is passionate about education and social development in the Asia-Pacific region, and aims to bring forward the best available knowledge and information to facilitate the mobilization of resources and people to engender development, which she believes to be a process of broadening people’s capabilities and expanding the range of choices and freedoms.
She is particularly interested in economic, social and technological innovations that fulfill the needs of individuals and communities, and subsequently boost countries’ capacities to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commitments.
Prior to joining AVPN, Olivia served as a research associate trainee and project assistant at the UNESCO headquarters and offices, responsible for developing and implementing projects related to the UN SDGs, and drafting research publications for SDG4 - Education 2030 agenda. She also has experience working with start-ups, corporates and academic institutes on program and policy research in the area of education, livelihoods and climate change.
Olivia holds an MSEd in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania and a BEng (Hons) in Material Science and Engineering from National University of Singapore.
