Thangaperumal is a development professional with around 20 years of rich and varied experience working in development sector. Have been working in the areas of Child rights protection, Disability, Microfinance, Education, Health, Livelihood promotion & Disaster management. For the past 15 years, being part of Terre des Hommes-Netherlands (TdH-NL), he has been managing programmes in India, Nepal & Sri Lanka, involved in project planning, support for effective implementation, monitoring & evaluation of projects/ programmes for children in difficult situations through our partner NGOs. The intervention largely focused on preventing child abuse and exploitation through integrated child protection interventions. During 2015-?17, he has managed thematic programmes on Child Trafficking & unsafe migration and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Asia (programme had a presence in 11 countries ? the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India). Holding a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, and three different Master degrees in Business Administration (MBA) with the specialisation in Marketing, in Sociology and Law; now leading the programmes of TdH-NL in India & Nepal by empowering children, families & communities, engaging with Government and Private Sector.
