Robert is Managing Director, Portfolio Management of Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), an organization dedicated to matching impact investment capital with enterprises creating positive social and environmental impact. Based in Singapore, IIX has been a pioneer in promoting impact investment in Asia. In this role, Robert leads all of IIX?s portfolio management activities. He was actively involved in the launch of IIX?s first Women?s Livelihood Bond? and is leading the team developing the $100m Women?s Livelihood Bond 2?. In addition, Robert leads IIX?s efforts to launch a $25m impact investment fund ? the IIX Growth Fund ? to make growth equity investments in high-impact enterprises in underserved markets of South and Southeast Asia with a focus on women empowerment. Robert is also a member of the board of the IIX Foundation as well as of a number of IIX?s portfolio companies, including Green Enterprises (an ethical organic virgin coconut oil producer in Aceh, Indonesia) and SOLshare (a peer-to-peer solar energy sharing company operating in Bangladesh.) In addition to his work at IIX, Robert is Senior Advisor to Asian Tiger Capital ? an innovative financial services firm in Bangladesh offering research, advisory and asset management services ? and a member of the board of its asset management subsidiary. Before joining the impact investing movement, Robert spent nearly 20 years in the traditional capital markets as an advisor and investor, most recently as head of Asian private equity for Marathon Asset Management, a US$12 billion alternative investment manager. Robert received his B.A. magna cum laude from Princeton University and his J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. Robert has lectured on M&A as an Adjunct Professor at the Singapore Management University.
