An Ex-SSC Logistics officer of the Indian Navy and a ICT-for-Development enthusiast, Shatarupa brings with her a wealth of over 14 years of experience of serving the country and grassroots communities in diverse ways. Heading the Non–Formal Education Initiatives at Learning Links Foundation, Shatarupa has been instrumental in spearheading community development and after-school learning programs in various parts of India. She is extensively involved in policy and strategy formulation and implementation of developmental schemes at grassroots level. With a strong belief that the route to social justice, gender equality, effective democracy, good governance and economic prosperity, has to pass through formal and non-formal learning centres, Shatarupa has been leading developmental projects that integrate technology to bring focus on education beyond classrooms - making it holistic, empowering and connected to real-life. Her expertise lies in developing innovative strategies for integration and usage of ICT based solutions for community development, by empowering youth and adults with 21st century skills. She is also involved in identifying, building and nurturing collaborations with governmental and non-governmental partners for the Foundation. In an earlier assignment, she has worked as a Project Coordinator, in a non-governmental organization, for a UNICEF supported project. She is trained in Personnel Management from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and is currently pursuing PG Diploma in Training and Development from the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD).
