Sumitra Mishra is the Executive Director of Mobile Creches and comes with twenty-five years of experience.

She is a postgraduate in special education and has worked closely with children and young adults with intellectual impairment, multiple disabilities, and other developmental disabilities through early intervention services, special education, programme design, policy matters and research.

She has pursued a rights based approach to ensure social justice for the most marginalised women and children with victims of human trafficking, women’s livelihoods programmes, girl’s education and other issues.

She has wide experience in organizational strategy and development, policy advocacy and campaign building, evidence-based programmes impacting change, fundraising and communications. Her recent published work includes State of the Young Child in India 2020, India Exclusion Report 2019-20, Her Right to Equality – Rethinking India 6 2021. She is recognized as a leader of civil society, a versatile TedX speaker, and across other platforms. Also recognized as one of India’s best Leaders in Times of Crisis 2021 by GPW.
