Susie Lim-Kannan is responsible for the strategic marketing and communications vision for AVPN. Susie is a communications, marketing and social media specialist with experience in the hospitality and arts industries. She developed the marketing communications strategies and media campaigns for a number of key launches in Singapore: The opening of the country’s performing arts venue The Esplanade; the historic Fullerton Hotel; the trendsetting ultra-luxe Capella resort; and the spectacular National Gallery Singapore. At the Gallery, Susie developed a 5-year strategic communications plan to build its reputation and promote the art of Singapore and Southeast Asia globally. She also led the publicity and social media initiatives for the launch of high-profile art exhibitions in Singapore and Paris and large-scale community events like the Light to Night Festival and Children’s Biennale. During her time in hospitality, she helmed PR and Communications for 28 hotels across Asia Pacific and launched new hotels for luxury brands such as Fairmont, Raffles, Swissotel, Six Senses and Shangri-La. Susie’s breadth of experience includes building communities and place management as part of the government-initiated non-profit Marina Central. Her role was to build this key area of the business district into a vibrant community hub, as part of the Urban Renewal Authority’s pilot programme to involve stakeholders in the precinct’s liveliness. She managed the project’s social media and content strategy, developed a district-wide arts event and handled finance and administration. Susie wants to bring her varied experiences together in new endeavours that will help strengthen the social fabric in a challenging world.
