Tien Tat has more than twenty years of experience in banking and spent the last fourteen years developing banking business for UOB in the Mekong region, in particular Vietnam and Myanmar. He is responsible for deal sourcing, investment valuation, structuring and divestments. 

As the former President of the Singapore Business Group in Vietnam, Tien Tat is active in the business community in Mekong Region. In 2010, he initiated an Interest Free Loan programme for more than 600 university students in Vietnam under the UOB Interest Free Loan Programme. Most recently in 2014, he set up a UOB University Scholarships Programme that will benefit 45 students in Myanmar.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Tien Tat was with United Overseas Bank as the Country Manager for Vietnam, and was based in Ho Chi Minh City since 2001. He was the lead manager in UOB's equity participation of 20% stake in a Vietnam local bank known as Southern Commercial Joint Stock Bank and also served on its board. Prior to joining UOB in 1996, Tien Tat spent four years in SME financing with Maybank Finance in Singapore. 

Tien Tat graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor degree in Banking and Insurance.
