Dr V Muniyasamy was appointed as the Country Director, Christian Children Fund of Canada (CCFC) India, in February 2004 to August 2016. As the Country Director he was responsible for developing and implementing Country Office strategic and operating plans consistent with corporate strategies, goals and directions; providing leadership and support to programs and projects; building staff capacity and culture for success in the Country Office and resource  mobilisation. He was responsible for supporting CCFC’s global organization wide initiatives in contributing to global education and promoting awareness of international development issues and CCFC’s impact in India. 

He had been associated with CCFC from the year 1999, worked as a Subject Matter Expert in DANIDA ( Danish International Development Assistance) and SPEECH, (Society for People’s Education and Economic Change) and DANIDA , where he was responsible for developing VDP (Village Development Plan) and initiate micro level planning by using Participatory Methods and implementation later  He was promoted as the MED Specialist, CCFC, India and later was assigned as the program officer, where he was responsible for assisting partners in participatory planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating process.

Dr. Muniyasamy holds over 21 years of experience in livelihood and community development sector and as a socio economic development specialist he has touched upon various fields including improving household/community livelihoods and local economic recovery, enhancing social cohesion and peace, strengthening VDC and district level local government and non-government institutions for supporting livelihood initiatives, and empowering women. 
Dr. Muniyasamy has a doctorate in Sustainable Livelihood Practices, from Madurai Kamaraj University, India and holds a Master of Social Work degree from Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, Madurai and Bachelor degree in Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. He has been awarded the Best Social Worker Award for Outstanding Field Activities from the Society for Community Organization, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has been associated with    Participatory Action Research on "Villur Chain of Irrigation Tanks"- Thirumangalam conducted for PWD, WRO & WS Atkins International and also other global researchers including “Policies that Work for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods" conducted for IIED - International Institute for Environment and Development and “How people perceive eye problem” conducted by London school hygiene and tropical medicine, UK.

Munis is currently working in ChildFund India as a Program Head/ Technical advisor – LS 3 since November 2016.
