About

Wahjudi Wardojo graduated in forestry from University of Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA, for his master degree. In 2001-2005, he was Ministry’s Secretary General. He was also Director General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (2001), Director General of Forestry Research and Development Agency (FORDA 2005-2009) as well as Special Advisor and Secretary of the Minister (2000). Prior to these assignments, he was assigned as the Forestry Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo (1997-1999). After his retirement from the Ministry of Forestry, he currently serves as a Senior Advisor for Terrestrial Program. In this position, he works closely with the TNC’s International Climate Policy Team at international, regional, and national levels and advices TNC in developing the Forest Carbon Program in Berau in particular and Indonesia Program in general. On behalf of TNC, he is also an alternate member of Oversight Committee for Debt for Nature Swap Project under Tropical Forest Conservation Act 2 (TFCA 2), for Kalimantan. He is also a member of United Nations on Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Indonesia Chapter (2013), and a member of the Netherlands Academy on Land Governance (LANDac)’ Land Forum of Utrecht University, Netherlands (2013).
