Ishk Tolaram Foundation is a philanthropic organisation within the Tolaram ecosystem. We provide access to quality education, healthcare and skills training to underserved individuals within our core geographies of Indonesia, Nigeria, Singapore, and Estonia.

Presently, we are looking for a motivated leader to head our finance and investment work. More details as follows.


Chief Finance and Investment Officer (CFO)


The CFO is responsible for the management of the Foundation’s finances and investment portfolio.


1. Management of the Foundation’s Investment Portfolio

  • Developing and executing on an annual investment strategy with support from the Finance and Investment Committee, with a focus on sustainable and impactful investments
  • Overseeing the Foundation’s investment portfolio, directly or via third parties
    • Includes performing due diligence and monitoring the performance of investments
  • Ensuring that the investment portfolio supports annual budgetary needs and the long-term financial sustainability of the Foundation, keeping in mind risk parameters
  • Seeking out new opportunities and relationships to support the Foundation’s investment strategy
  • Presenting investment updates to the Finance and Investment Committee and Board of Directors

2. Management of the Foundation’s Finances

  • Developing and maintaining the Foundation’s annual budget with support from the Executive and Programs Teams
  • Managing the Foundation’s cash flow to meet annual budgetary needs
  • Developing a financial sustainability plan to meet long term strategic goals
  • Liaising with third parties related to the Foundation’s accounting and annual financial audit
  • Leading on all internal and external meetings related to the Foundation’s finances
  • Presenting financial updates to the Finance and Investment Committee and Board of Directors

3. Support of the Foundation’s Broader Mission and Work

  • Keeping abreast of local and global issues relevant to the Foundation’s work
  • Representing the Foundation at external meetings and other relevant events
  • Supporting the development of a cohesive and effective team


The CFO is part of the Executive Team and reports to the Executive Director.


  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent financial management skills
    • Including the management of budgets, cash flows, and profit and loss statements
  • Investment portfolio management skills
    • Including seeking out opportunities, performing due diligence, and monitoring and reporting on portfolio performance
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Above average command of IT software including GSuite, MS Office


  • Strong leadership and organisational capabilities
    • Including the ability to work well in a team and develop other team members
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong ethical orientation and aligned values
  • Passion for philanthropy and positive impact creation


  • Minimum education level: university graduate
  • Minimum of five years of working experience
    • Preference for an accounting/finance/investment management background and experience with sustainable and impact-related investments
