Job Description

The Knowledge & Insights team curates research and evidence-based insights to equip practitioners and new entrants with the necessary information to understand the landscape of social investment across the region, approaches and innovations on the ground and ways of strategic and meaningful intervention.  We are open to considering candidates who are based in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia.


In this role, you will lead part of the research process by :
  • Leading the methodological design of research projects,
  • Steering the quantitative and qualitative data collection process, identifying appropriate resources for the team,
  • Editing content such as articles, blog posts, case studies, and other short reports that leverage AVPN research insights,
  • Converting research reports into more digestible pieces that appeal to a digital audience, particularly for gender, climate, inclusive business and other platforms,
  • Assist in developing talking points and content for speeches, presentations, and other speaking engagements by senior management based on research insights,
  • Curate research and relevant news content from external sources including AVPN members that supplement and reinforce AVPN’s strategy.


Ideally you bring the following to our team and the role:
  • Educational requirements: Masters degree
  • At least 5-6 years qualitative research experience  in the social sciences and or economic development. Strong interest in social investment  and the social sector generally
  • General curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset and proactive, independent practice
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Proficient with  MS Office and data analysis skills in Excel
  • Ability to write for different media and to communicate sector knowledge to various audiences
  • Native proficiency in one or more Asian languages (e.g. Mandarin, Bahasa, Hindi, Cantonese or others) is an advantage
  • Quantitative data management and analysis skills are desirable
