Job Description

AVPN’s Senior Associate, Northeast Asia, will support the Regional Head of Northeast Asia (NEA) to facilitate market growth, helping to shape strategy, develop market programmes, and coordinate resources for the NEA region. The role includes providing support to NEA market representatives and the partnerships team in achieving market targets related to membership, grants, and sponsorships. The Senior Associate will also assist NEA market representatives in fostering engagement with existing members and positioning value propositions to attract new members.

This position operates within a matrix reporting structure and reports to both the Regional Head of Northeast Asia, and the Partnerships Director of Northeast Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liason between NEA market representatives and vertical functions such as Knowledge, Platforms, Capital Mobilisation to enhance the understanding of AVPN programme or product offering within NEA markets
  • Collaborate with NEA market representatives to champion engagements with members and prospects and provide support to nurture pipelines in each NEA markets
  • Work with Partnerships team to develop programmes based on requests and opportunities arising from NEA markets
  • Support the process of maintaining and recruiting members in NEA markets, detailing market needs, AVPN value positioning, and identifying key opportunities

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in social investment, philanthropy, or CSR 
  • Proven experience in business development, relationship management, or a related field
  • Experience working within a lean team
  • Fluent spoken Mandarin and English.
  • Good English and Chinese writing skills.
  • You are a firm believer in the power of networks to mobilise more capital for better development outcomes.
  • You can forge and cultivate relationships with members and be comfortable dealing with funders
  • You enjoy forging new paths and collaborating well with others to make things happen
  • You see the big picture and articulate pictures and visions of possibilities to drive our work forward
  • You have excellent organisational and management skills
  • You are a concise, compelling writer and an effective verbal communicator.
