Prayas (Initiatives in Health, Energy, Learning and Parenthood)

Prayas is a public charitable trust registered in 1994. Members of Prayas are professionals working to protect and promote public interest in general and the interests of disadvantaged sections in particular. It consists of two active groups, Health and Energy. Prayas Health Group (PHG) works mainly in the area of sexuality and HIV/AIDS. PHG is committed to generate evidence based discourse on emerging issues on sexual and reproductive health and rights. It works towards taking scientific evidence to communities in simple, sensitive, non-judgmental, empowering and effective manner. It is actively involved in provision of clinical care to people living with HIV, programmatic interventions, socio-behavioral and epidemiological research, awareness building, and policy advocacy. PHG has experience in implementing large-scale programs, is approved by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research as a research organization, and has produced more than 50 scientific peer-reviewed articles.

Mahita

Established in 1994 in Hyderabad, India, MAHITA addresses educational and social disparities in urban slums, emphasizing quality education for children, especially girls. Operating across Telangana’s rural and urban areas, MAHITA promotes economic and social justice while respecting local cultural values. Its focus on gender, education, human rights, livelihoods, and humanitarian efforts reflects a commitment to holistic development. Over 27 years, MAHITA empowered marginalized communities by catalyzing change. It eliminated child labor in 132 Gram Panchayats, supported 800 migrant children during COVID, facilitated 500 acres of farming, empowered women through micro-enterprises, and equipped over 22,000 youth with skills and jobs. Impactful initiatives include early childhood education, digital learning for girls, water and sanitation projects in schools, STEM labs, youth skill development, rural women’s economic empowerment, and capacity-building for youth and girls. Foundation for Labour and Employment Promotion

The Foundation for Labor and Employment Promotion (FLEP) or HomeNet Thailand was established in 1997 and registered as a juristic foundation in 2002. HomeNet Thailand works with informal workers across Thailand by organizing and strengthening their organizations, campaigning for greater access to public services, advocate for social protection as well as enhancing their economic empowerment. Main target groups are about 10,000 informal workers including homebased workers, domestic workers, street vendors and motorcycle taxi drivers. Social protection policies, Homenet Thailand has continuously advocated for informal workers are, universal health care coverage, social insurance, occupational health and safety, elderly pension, child support allowance, childcare center, maternity protection and violence against women migrant workers. Likewise, to enhance economic empowerment, HomeNet Thailand Brand is established as a social enterprise of 1,000 home-based workers, mostly are women.

Snaildy Education

Snaildy Education Limited, established in December 2019, aims to build a closely connected and intelligent special educational needs (SEN) ecosystem. It leverages technology to support the growth of SEN students and promote inclusiveness within the community, families, and schools. Additionally, Snaildy serves as the backbone for in-school student support teams, transforming their traditional work models into digital technology-based systems. This comprehensive approach enhances administrative efficiency and reduces work pressure, allowing teachers to allocate more time to educating and caring for SEN students.

NPO Waffle

Waffle is the market leader in providing young women hands-on CS-related opportunities, and has won several prestigious awards, including one personally delivered by the Prime Minister of Japan. Specifically, Waffle provides three programs targeted at young women in middle and high school and one program for college students. All the programs share the same components: hands-on skill, career vision, empowerment, and gender topics to inoculate the young women in male-dominated CS areas so that they will thrive as women leaders in the future. In addition to hands-on experience with 300+ students, Waffle provides career and gender lectures all over Japan with attendance ranging over 1,000 people annually.
