Problem

In Singapore, there is a need to redefine digital literacy education through coding and equipping children and youths in need with 21st-century relevant skills.

We envision a world where every kid is empowered with skills and mindset to purposefully apply the potential of technology to shape a better future, and Saturday Kids has the solution for this.

Solution

At Code in The Community, we aim to address the issue of digital literacy in Singapore to help kids from disadvantaged backgrounds by offering Singapore's largest free coding programme.

CITC offers Scratch for 8-12 year olds and Python for 13-16 year olds, structured as a 16-hour curriculum conducted over 8 weeks. It is the only programme in Singapore that provides disadvantaged children with multi-level coding classes, so those who show an interest in coding can progress to the next level (total 64 hours).
