Air Pollution Protection & Education

Smart Air is a clean air workshop program that teaches people how to protect themselves from air pollution. We target those living in cities in Asia, of whom 90% breathe polluted air on an ongoing basis.

Problem

In Asia, 2.4 billion people live in urban environments with dirty, unsafe air. Yet, only a small minority of these are aware of the health impacts of air pollution. And further still, only 1% have access to clean air. As a consequence, one person dies every 10 seconds because of air pollution in Asia.

In reality, the methods of health protection from air pollution are incredibly simple. Air purifiers are simple, tried-and-tested solutions that can cost as little as $20, and bring clean air to a whole family. However, most people are unaware about this. They're either uninformed on the dangers of air pollution, or unable to afford what the air purifier market leads us to believe are "luxury" items.

Solution



Our solution at Smart Air is to provide the missing link to help people protect their health from air pollution: knowledge and education.

When people are aware of how simple and easy it is to protect themselves from air pollution, they will want to take action. Furthermore, when they know that $20 is enough to protect their entire family from air pollution, they have the means to do it.

We run workshops that informs people on the reality about air pollution, in order to keep them and their families safe, healthy and happy. Our approach is effective as 8 in 10 people who attend our workshops say they will purchase an air purifier based on what they have learnt.
