Children In Families (CIF) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2006. It was co-founded by Cathleen Jones, an American who had been living in Cambodia since 1992, and a Khmer woman, Keo Ravy. Ravy now serves as our National Director, while other like-minded individuals who supported the initial founding now make up the CIF Board. Since the beginning, these individuals have been deeply concerned about the overuse of institutions in caring for the needs of Cambodia's children at risks. They have strongly advocated for a shift of the use of Residential Care Institutions (orphanages) toward Family Based Care. CIF now supports loving families in caring for vulnerable children inclusive of children with disabilities, enabling them to grow into healthy, positive adult members of their families and communities.
