APLE is local, non-profit child protection organisation, dedicated to combating child sexual abuse and exploitation in Cambodia. Founded in 2003, APLE seeks to rescue victims and bring abusers to justice by working in close collaboration with local police and international law enforcement agencies. APLE also provides comprehensive social and legal support to victims from the moment of identification to the end of legal process. Further, APLE acts to build individual and institutional capacities to prevent, protect and prosecute child sexual crimes. Its awareness raising, training and mentorship program strategically covers children, youth, parents, communities, NGOs, private institutions, law enforcement and judiciary, aiming to engage them in a strong community watchdog system.
