Health Education and Access for Burmese

Foundation for Education and Development

FED’s mission: Marginalized Burmese people living at home and abroad achieve their basic rights. FED was founded in 2000. Currently, it has 3 programs in Thailand. The Education Program provides educational opportunities for migrants and their children at our own migrant learning centers, at Thai government schools and in non-formal education programs. The Health program provides access to healthcare systems, and the Migrant Development Team works to educate workers on their rights and provide legal and financial support after rights abuses occur. In 2014, FED was able to openly work in Myanmar and currently has 3 offices across the country providing education to internally displaced children, pre-departure training for migrants, and legal aid for migrants.
