According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2018, India has consistently achieved more than 96% enrolment since 2010. However, the quality of education provided has not kept pace with the enrolment rates, with the learning level of students remaining alarmingly low. ASER 2018 also highlights that over 77.6% of students of Standards I to V opt for private tuition apparently due to inadequacy of education provided in government schools, thus increasing the burden on family expenditure.
Tomorrow's Foundation seeks to address the quality of education gap in government primary schools, lack of employable skills in adolescents, lack of opportunities for out of school adolescents and youths.
Through Shiksha Pragati, TF will engage with teachers to demonstrate success through alternative teaching methods and advocate with policy makers for overall systemic change. TF will use its trainers for daily capacity building and handholding support to the government teachers to enable them to work with children at different levels of competency within the same class using alternative activity-based teaching learning methods. We will also work to plug the adolescent skills gap through an open schooling system. We will reach out to adolescents that have been out-of-school, or have never enrolled into school, and provide them with life skills, rights and entitlement training. See our project in action
