SimplyGood addresses the environmental problem specifically the issue of single use plastics and rising global carbon emissions attributed from supply chains.
In 2020, we have generated more than 40.4 million tons of single use plastics and is forecast to grow during 2020 2025 at a CAGR of 3.7% to 48.5 million tons in 2025.
Supply Chain Carbon Emission also accounts for more than 80% of greenhouse gas emissions and 90% of environmental impacts.
Hence, with SimplyGood we are addressing the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Home care industry which is resource inefficient and designed for a linear economy attributing to increasing single use plastics & carbon emissions.
SimplyGood provides a dry based dehydrated cleaning tablet that dissolves in water allowing consumers to reuse their existing single use plastic cleaning bottle. By providing the essential active ingredients in a dry based tablet, we are able to also remove the need to transport water, which is highly resource inefficient - A cleaning solution is made up of up to 96% water, which consumers have ready access to at home. Hence our cleaning tablets are 300x lighter and 200x smaller than traditional liquid cleaning agents significantly saving on carbon emissions & cost from transportation & storage.
By designing a circular economy solution we are able to encourage consumers to refill and reuse their existing plastic spray bottle. Also through an innovative & unique dry based form factor we are able to significantly cut down on the carbon emissions generated from manufacturing & distributing such cleaning products to consumers more efficiently.
The current carbon emissions saved are calculated utilising road transport. This impact will be significantly more once we scale our business globally as logistics utilised will be either by air freight / ship.
