Early Childhood Care and Education
Moving more capital towards early childhood care and education
Vision
Connecting unusual allies in early childhood care and education
More than just preparation for primary school, ECCE aims towards a holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well being.
Facts
Huge gaps persist in providing quality ECCE to all children in India
- In India, there are >160M children aged 0-6 years
- The Integrated Child Development Services – a state administered ECCE programme-only covers 38M children across 1.4M Anganwadi centres
- Extensive resources are needed to offer effective ECCE programmes
