Session 3: Building Data and AI Maturity for Social Impact: A People-First Approach

As part of the AVPN AI for Good Online Learning Series, join AVPN and data.org for an interactive session designed for social impact leaders navigating AI adoption without losing sight of what matters most: people.

Our third session in the series invites AI-curious changemakers—funders, nonprofits, and innovators—to explore how data and AI can strengthen impact while empowering teams, engaging partners, and maintaining trust with communities. As AI adoption accelerates, the key question to ask is no longer just “Can we use AI?” but “How do we use AI responsibly and in line with our values?”

In this session, you’ll be introduced to frameworks and *tools such as the Data Maturity Assessment (DMA), a free tool by data.org that helps organisations assess where they are on their data and AI journey and prioritise the right strategies and investments.

Through real-world use cases and guided activities, this session focuses on what truly drives successful AI adoption: shared understanding, organisational readiness, and ethical, people-centered practices.

What you’ll learn:

  • Real-world examples: See how social impact organizations are using data and AI effectively.
  • Practical frameworks and tools: Learn to use the Data Maturity Assessment (DMA) by data.org to understand your organization’s AI readiness and prioritise the right strategies.
  • People-first approaches: Identify responsible starting points for AI adoption that align with your values.
  • Ongoing resources: Access practical tools to continue building shared understanding among your teams.

Join us to learn how to build data and AI maturity while leading with a people-first approach.

Registrations are open until 3 February 2026 or until slots are filled.
