Faith-aligned funders are often driven by the core consideration of stewardship in their grantmaking: how do we know we are good stewards, using our resources effectively to create lasting impact? In essence, stewardship drives to the core of strategic philanthropy—the value of stewardship demands that we continuously examine how we make our resources count in the ways that matter most. However, if the questions of stewardship are not effectively operationalized they can easily become obstacles to effective giving, dissuading us from decisive risks and valuable collaborations.
How do we practice stewardship in our philanthropy and impact investing so that we can be proactive with our resources while remaining diligent about our impact?
We will explore these challenges above in our upcoming faith and giving learning circle featuring Amit Anthony Alex, Investment Director at Dovetail Foundation. We will explore how Amit and the Dovetail Foundation team reckon with stewardship at the individual and organizational level through processes of review and diligence. We will also learn about how stewardship informs different aspects of their grantmaking, which includes betting on scalable models of impact through unrestricted grants and impact investing. We look forward to hearing from participants on how they navigate stewardship in their philanthropic giving or impact investing, the challenges they experience, and the processes that have helped them bring stewardship into practice.
Please register by 17th November to join this learning circle.
