AVPN and BMW Foundation have come together to organise an exclusive European Study Tour tailored for high level Asian government officials who would like to find out more about the latest models of social investing in Europe.
The proposed tour responds to needs expressed to Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) from throughout the region, for there to be a greater links between Government and those seeking to provide financial or human resource towards the alleviation of key social issues e.g. aging population, environmental, education, poverty, health inequality etc.
Governments everywhere are the most significant players in every aspect of the social sector, they set the rules and regulations, and ultimately deploy (spend) the majority of the money. Governments have always worked with social sector organizations, but are now recognizing more about them as possible strategic partners, helping in both innovating new models and in providing more efficient and effective service delivery.
This remarkable European study tour opportunity will provide delegates with a strategic insight into successful models in Europe, where government and non-government organisations have found innovative and impactful ways of working in partnership. Delegates will also meet a number of leading global organisations, wishing to provide money, for social purpose, in Asia
The tour will incorporate:
- EVPA’s 10th Annual Conference in Berlin
- Brussels: Meeting with representatives from the European Commission and other leading organisations
- London: Meet with members of the UK Cabinet Office, Big Society Capital, Social Impact Bonds
