AVPN’s Friday sessions are casual get-togethers once a month for our community and friends, whereby we choose a topic of interest, and have a key speaker start the conversation off. For the month of March we will be talking about Early Childhood Development Education (ECD).
Research shows that the preschool years in a child’s life are absolutely critical. Studies have also shown that ECD projects provide the highest rate of return on investment in terms of societal impact. As such, investing in quality early childhood education is crucial.
Singapore has a large number of preschools but there are significant gaps in quality, accessibility and equity of services among the many different preschool providers. Leveling these gaps is extremely important.
The Lien Foundation will share with us its philanthropic approach to investing in ECD through a combination of advocacy, strategic collaboration and direct services, focusing on three recent projects: inclusive preschool, circle of care and a different class.
